Jacob Duffy’s four-for-a-half start over Tim Seifert helped New Zealand secure a five-wicket win over Pakistan and lead 1-0 in the first T20I.

Pakistan scored 164-9 overs in 20 overs with the leading scorer with hafeez earning 99 runs 59 balls including 10-fours and 5-sixes.

Faheem Ashraf hit 31 of 18 balls including 3-sixes and 2-four strikers of 172.22, Imad Wasim 19, Mohammad Rizwan 17 and Khushdil Shah 16.

New Zealand’s best bowler is Debutant Jacob Duffy – who took four wickets in his Debut T20I match, Scott Kuggeleijn who took three wickets and Blair Tickner’s one – Ish Sodhi.

New Zealand chased 156-5 in 18.5 overs and top scorer Tim Seifert hit 57 off 43 balls including 6-fours and six.

Mark Chapman hit 34 of 20 balls including 4-fours and six with 170 strikes, Glenn Phillips 23 and James Neesham 15 unbeaten.

Pakistan’s best bowler Haris Rauf took three wickets and Shaheen Shah Afridi two wickets.

Jacob Duffy was named man of the match for his bowling alley for four wickets for 33 runs in four overs.
